Miro Miro on the Wall (& Slack)
A tool I explored this week was Miro! Miro is essentially a workspace app for teams to use and collaborate on. You can create timelines, use it for brainstorming, or create many other things. From what I understand, Miro involves adding shapes and sticky notes to an empty board to create. People can collaborate all at the same time and add their own ideas and contributions to the board. It is also integrated into many other tools like Microsoft, which allows for use across different platforms.
Overall, I think Miro would be really good in group collaboration. I like the idea of being able to place sticky notes and notes across the whole board. This would be really nice for the brainstorming part of a group project where everyone's ideas can be displayed in their own area to make it easy to distinguish and see laid out, versus something like Google Doc for collaboration, where writing and text is all linear.
Another tool I tried out this week was Slack. Slack is a team communication tool that allows for team interactions. On Slack, there are multiple channels that can be used to better organize conversation and groups within a larger group.
Slack reminds me a lot of Discord. I believe someone actually said that in the class group and I totally agree! I like how easy it is to navigate and makes it easy to have conversation with groups and with individuals. Further, I really liked the feature where you could essentially DM yourself. It acts as a nice space to send yourself reminders and to-dos.
Overall, I think both of these platforms and applications are super handy! I think they are super helpful in collaboration with teams whether it be communication or building. What do you guys think about them? Have you tried them out?
