Reflection: A Third of the Course DONE!!!!
As we continue on in week 5, I figured this would be a good a time as any to reflect on the week, semester, and my thoughts going forward.
So far, I think this class has become my favorite one I'm taking this semester (don't tell my courses). I am really enjoying the creativity, the ability to explore, and the ability to pick and choose what I want to do each week whether it be looking into Flickr, Instagram, participating in discussions, or a scavenger hunt. Not only that, but I think this class has allowed me to really think deeply bot only on the role that social media can have in a classroom setting, but on our lives as well. I've learned so many new and cool tools that I could see working really well with education, and I've discovered new tools that I'll be using in life.
This week, I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed with my course load. My boyfriend is visiting, so I've been really trying to stay on top of my work as a whole, but it seems like it's an important busy week in all classes! That's okay though, because I've created a schedule for myself and am slowly (but surely) checking things off of my to do list. For this class, still to be done is to participate in some of the challenges for the ultimate challenge, make some last observations and participations in my communities, and continue on writing my paper. I feel good about it and because I'm actually interested in the topic, it doesn't feel like too much work, which I appreciate.
Moving forward for the semester, I can't believe that we've already finished 1/3 of it! It really does feel like time flies in a summer semester. I'm excited to keep exploring and understanding Web 2.0 and seeing what other tools we'll be using and how they fit into education.
How is everyone else feeling so far into the semester? Are we relaxed? Stressed? Feeling all the feelings? We've got this!!!!!
I'm really enjoying this course's structure as well. I prefer being hands-on rather than solely depending on reading texts and writing papers. Being actively engaged and observing how the tools are used and impact our daily lives in real time is the best.
ReplyDeleteHi Aya!
DeleteI agree! I think being hands on makes me feel more engaged and I'm still learning! Reading texts can sometimes be a drag, especially when its pages and pages long!
